Sometimes, we would like to sail away
Yet, are never sure quite where,
Somewhere, where, we'd be content
And never have a care...
Somewhere, where the wind blows soft
And the nights are cool and sweet,
Where rainbows fill the bluest sky,
Where you and I can meet.
So, let's pack up this very day
The things we'd like to take,
And go aboard a schooner,
For all we contemplate.

We'll gather up our memories
The knick knacks that we love,
Our favorite clothes and hats and books-
Leave all that needs be done...
Together, we'll be sure to berth,
In cabins right next door,
With stairways out upon the deck
Where we can see the shore.

We'll see the seagulls soaring high
Drag our fingers in the brine,
Taste the salt upon our lips
Lay back in warmth divine.
We'll play our favorite music
And wander stem to stern,
Arm in arm, we'll chatter, laugh,
More of each other learn.

As sun sets low, in orange, red
We'll watch the stars at play,
Gaze deep into the heavens
And hear the dolphin spray.
Then, when the yawning overwhelms
We'll gather up our stoles,
Kiss the shadows, sweet goodnight
And take all we can hold...

Then, dream we shall, the night away
While rolling to and fro,
Safe within our Father's arms
Where always we're at home.
As this, we'll keep and know forever
Our life, our sail away,
Together, every moment on the deck
Of His schooner every day
