I’ve searched the skies so high
and the oceans wide and blue,
I’ve searched the valleys and plains
just to find a friend like you.

I’ve search in majestic forests
in canyons deep and wide,
I’ve searched in hidden places
in towers that peak the sky.

I’ve searched the websites over
and the quiet of the wind,
to find a friend like you
I thought searching would never end.

But then I stopped my searching
and just said a simple prayer,
and when I was finished praying
my friend, you were there.

I found who I was looking for
and my searching now is through,
all I ever really wanted
was to have a friend like you.

Now, I’ve learned a lesson
that all I really have to do,
is just look inside my heart
to have a friend like you.

For you were always there
and somehow I just couldn’t see,
that by my side you always were
a special friend to me.
