Christmas Time’s a
comin’ –
and all the kids are
runnin’,
here and there and
everywhere –
just to spread some
Christmas cheer!
They’re snooping
around the Christmas
tree –
“Hey, don’t shake
that present, it’s
for me.”
Moms and dads are
pulling hair –
the Christmas spirit
is in the air.

The baby is crying
and there is danger
–
Johnny’s climbing
into the manger.
The lights are
flashing, some aglow
–
and grandpa has
wandered out, into
the snow.
“Get him in here
before he freezes –
can’t he feel those
northern breezes?
“Susie, tap grandma
on the shoulder –
she’s a snoring, but
don’t knock her
over.”

“Listen children, I
hear some bells” –
“Mommy?” “Yes,
Robin?” “Something
smells!”
“Hey honey, don’t be
so hyper –
it’s just the baby
dirtying his
diaper!”
“Daddy? Junior is
getting aggravating.
–
He’s watching TV and
it’s got an R
rating.”
“Daddy, are we
getting a lot of
toys?”
“Not unless you’re
real good girls and
boys!”

“OK kids, it’s time
to go to bed –
daddy and mommy are
about to drop dead.
But, before you go,
let’s say a prayer –
that Santa won’t get
sick again this
year!
Don’t forget to
brush your teeth -
and don’t come down
the stairs to peep.
Wash your hands and
turn out the lights
–
if you want Santa
Claus to come
tonight.”

Yes, Christmas
time’s a comin’ –
but the kids are no
longer runnin’,
they’re fast asleep
in snowy weather –
and Santa is putting
toys together!
