Across the wide horizons –
throughout the world afar,
an American soldier friend –
is defending “Freedom” in war.
I take a little moment –
to search the world’s end,
to offer a simple prayer –
to our American soldier friend.

Whether you be here at home –
or far across the sea,
you still defend a country –
that means so much to me.
The task you undertake –
to defend this native land,
your courage and dedication –
to you I extend my hand.

Your life is never settled –
you’re always on your feet,
standing tall with honor –
with risks you must meet.
Your days are sometimes lonely –
and you miss your folks at home,
but a friend to freedom’s call,
you never stand alone.

Sometimes we take for granted –
that our country is safe and
free,
and the flag waves in breezes –
is just there for us to see.

But a price has been paid -
so that freedom will never end,
and I just want to thank you,
our American soldier friend!
