I was thinking just today
About what makes a friend
How can one know right from the
start
For it's only words we send
Sometimes there is a bonding
A meeting of the hearts
There are so many little things
From which a friendship starts
In life we plant some little
seeds
All along life's way
We may never see them bloom
But someone will ~ some day
When I look back across the
years
I can not quite recall
Just how many folks I've met
It's hard to remember all

Perhaps we send a word or two
Sometimes we will send more
It depends on the bonding
If the friendship is secure
Many lives will pass our way
And many lives go on
It's just the way it seems to
work
Today their here, tomorrow gone
I think perhaps each new friend
Is just God's special way
Of letting us know we aren't
alone
For some folks choose to stay

There may be times you disagree
Sometimes they fade away
For loving, lasting friendships
Takes two ~ I'm here to say
I think there is a time in life
A line is drawn in the sand
And those who will choose to
listen
And somehow to understand
But true friends are few and far
between
As it's always seemed to be
We must work at a friendship
And that means you and me

Some say a friends forever
Yet some may not last that long
It doesn't matter who is right
Nor should it matter who is
wrong
So, at the ending of the day
Each hopes they did plant seeds
For there are many things to
bloom
That all our friendships need
Well, my dear friend, I love you
Sometimes sorry is not enough
It would really help us all
If we knew it's all just 'STUFF'
For at the final ending
When Heaven's doors are opened
wide
When we're on our way to
Heaven's Home
I'm still hoping your by my
side.

'Be who you are,
and say what you feel,
because those who mind don't
matter, and
those who matter don't mind.'
