Thanks my friend for
being you
When I'm not being
me
That is the time I'm
leaning
You're as solid as a
tree
When my day is
troubled
And I've cried
through the night
All I have to do is
call
You always make
things right
I know no other
person
You see into my
heart
Your love does never
falter
It's been there from
the start

People sometimes ask
me
What do I call a
friend
For they've not
found a true one
That's with them to
the end
They say it seems
all they have found
Are the 'fair
weather' friends
But when we're
hurting deep inside
A friend can see
within
Sometimes we do not
need words
We see inside each
other's heart
Those, for sure, are
'keeper friends'
And have been from
the start

We meet a lot of
people
Who come in then
leave our lives
They fill a
'temporary need'
When small problems
arise
Well, dear, that's
not the friendship
It's good, it's
kind, has grace
But when I see just
darkness
That is when I seek
your face
And you come in -
invited
For whatever would I
do
God knew I'd need an
angel
So, hand-picked He
sent you

We laugh, we love,
we nurture
Look deeply into the
heart
And it did not take
years you see
T'was like that from
the start
How can I say thank
you
God sent you right
to me
We each hold the
other closely
When there's trouble
that we see
Two lives God bound
together
We know there is no
end
I am so thankful He
picked you
My
Sister/Angel/Friend

So thanks my friend
for being you
When I'm not being
me
That is the time I'm
leaning
On the strength in
you I see.
