I can remember years ago
When I walked in the valley
No one but my Jesus
There to help to guide me

I look back and I can say
Most would have been afraid
And yet it never crossed my mind
I just listened to what He said

He told me, Child, don't be alarmed
I'm with you all the way
And though it was a walk of death
He took the fear away

I did fear no evil
As Jesus held my hand
When I got very sick
He was there to understand

He made me whole
And when He was through
I got up to walk again
With so much ahead to do

I know He saved my life
Because it was His choice
Slowly as my body healed
I could hear His voice

He started whispering in my ear
He wanted me to write
He said that He knew it had been hard
Lean on Him I'd be alright

That was when He reached out
And took me by the hand
And He began to let me know
Just what He had planned

He led me to a little church
When I walked in that door
I felt the Lord's whole presence
As I never had before

He whispered things into my ear
That no one else would know
He told me He would give me strength
And in His name I'd grow

Well, He sure did know what was ahead
For it wasn't many weeks
Before I found the Holy Ghost
And other tongues to speak

He took that body racked with pain
And it was step by step
Some days ahead and some days back
But He was there to help

He told me it would not be long
And I would be just fine
That He was intervening in my life
I chose to make Him mine

The walk hasn't always been easy
There are valleys, mountains too
But He has kept His words to me
I've seen what He can do

He is my Master and my Lord
My life's in His control
That happened when His blood was shed
Twas then He had my soul

So what did He have left for me
It was a special task
To sit and write His praises
That was all He asked

And so I take this pen in hand
An angel by my side
I have been writing all I can
I am so full inside

Dear Jesus, Master of my soul
He softly whispers in my ear
And the words upon the page
Are words He had me hear

I am so blessed - I love Him so
This would be what I'd say
I'll follow wherever He doth lead
My life will go His way

Thank you Jesus for your love
When I see Heaven's gate
I'll know my time is done on earth
And go with You in Faith
