If this could be a perfect world
I know just what I'd do
I'd somehow bridge the distance
And live next door to you

I dislike it so this distance
But we each do our best
To let the other know we're there
On our friendship we can rest

Like we've been friends so long
We like all of the same things

I never have to write to say

Like only best friends can do

You always say the right things
Your always there - so true
I wonder some days where I'd be
If I had never found you

You pick me up and dust me off
Just like a best friend will do
And if at times you need the same
I'm always there for you

Well, if this was a perfect world
I promise you for sure
That even then I'd love you
Perhaps I'd love you even more

One day we are sure to meet
I'm thinking then perhaps
We'd finally know the reason
God saves the best for last.
