Lovely bluebonnets growing wild and free
Across the country as far as the eye can see
Indian paint brushes red, bluebonnets so blue
God created these lovely flowers for me and you.

Bluebonnets cover the hillside every spring
Every year so much enjoyment they bring
The red and blue blending so bright
In the late afternoon sunlight.

Wild bluebonnets, Indian paint brushes red
Growing together far and wide they spread
What a beautiful picture they make
With these lovely flowers God made no mistake.
