My grandparents traveled to build a homestead
Love shining in their eyes as onward they tread
Always working together hand in hand
With dreams only God could understand.



Building their small cabin was rough
Working from sunrise to sunset was tough
Some days were hot and seemed long
But their trust in God kept them strong.

All their hard work through the years
Sharing with children laughter and tears
My grandparents had faith and were blessed
Believing in God they did their best.



The old homestead is still beautiful today
The children live there and keep it that way
My grandparents built their very best
And are now at peace and rest.
