Once I owned two horses, Sugar and Spice
Sugar was brown, Spice was ebony black
Spice was frisky and loved to run wild
Sugar was gentle, calm and mild.

When thunder clouds would hover
Spice would seek cover
Sugar took things in stride
She was such a pleasure to ride.



Sugar and Spice liked being outside
Ever ready to be saddled up for a ride
People always watched as I rode by
My beauties would prance but never shy.

Sugar and Spice had stalls side by side
Here they reigned with such pride
Sugar ruled like a royal queen
Spice knew he was the sovereign king.
