While walking down a pathway
T'was there, a stranger I did meet
His clothes were darned, and wrinkled
Worn out sandals upon His feet

His hair was wisped about His head
Eye's worn, but glistening
He spoke to me so softly
So I began just listening

He told me of such sweet things
As we walked along the sand
The miracles He had mustered
By His loving, Fathers Hand

The scars upon His shoulders
Were deep, and very wide
I asked Him where He'd gotten them
And to that he sat, and cried

He told of things that happened
When He walked the earth as me
He said He died for all that day
Shed his blood, to make us free

He said he didn't mind the suffering
For He loved each one same
He just could not stand by, and watch
While Satan played His game

Every scar He bore were stripes
Showing His love for you, and I
Don't take it all for granted
And fall for Satan's lie

Give Him thanks each day
For the sacrifice He made
For all sin was thrown upon Him
And the Price for us was paid
